ICE BOATS IN ART

 Site Choices

Sculptor and painter Harry Whitehorse is undoubtedly one of the most prolific and greatest ice boat artists in the world, not that there are that many to begin with! He was introduced to the sport in the 1960s when he was looking for a fast winter sport that would complement his summer passion, sprint car and midget auto racing. Harry sees the aesthetic beauty inherent in ice boats and has painted a series of ice boat paintings. Be sure and go to Harry's website to see more of his sculptures, paintings, and carvings.

Ice Boats Save America: Remember the 1970's Energy Crisis? In response to that event, Harry painted a solution to the problem that employed  the latest high-tech ice boat technology of the time.
